Maternal Origins Paternal Origins What You Get Collect Your Sample How To Order

If you want to determine the route your mother's ancestors took, we will test your
Mitochondrial DNA.  Mitochondrial DNA is passed on relatively unchanged from a mother
to her children.  Rare mutation rates that have occured in your Mitochondrial DNA over
the last 150,000 years are analyzed and traced back in time to determine your maternal
lineage.  Our laboratory sequences the two hypervariable control  regions (HV-1 and HV-
2) in an effort  to  provide the most complete description of your maternal
ancestor’Äôs ancient migrations.

Our  testing  of  611  base  pairs  is  then  compared   to  the  Cambridge  Reference
Sequence or to other databased individuals to determine maternal lineage/relatedness.
Once classified, we can determine the proper Haplogroup to which you belong .

Once  we have established your Haplogroup we provide you with a migrational map which
shows the route your maternal ancestors took across the globe, a certificate displaying
your membership to a specific Haplogroup and an 8-10 page written history of the
migrations that have populated the planet, including specific information on your place in
this fascinating history.

Armed with that information you may choose to seek out living relatives who are contained
in public databases or search out celebrities long past with whom you share a common
ancestor.

Further back  in history,  testing  has  revealed the Ice Man of  Italy, discovered in  the
past  ten years to be of the K Haplogroup, while the Ice Maiden of Peru belongs to
Haplogroup A. In addition  to the performance of  highly definitive analysis of your DNA
sample,

This  encapsulation  of  your past is  now available through recent advances in DNA
technology, and is ideal for the individual interested  in  their  maternal ancestors,  or as
a  thoughtful   gift   for   the  casual or serious genealogy hobbyist.
